Time For An Update On UMNO’s Official Status

UMNO President, for the moment, Zahid has announced publicly that no one except himself can hold talks with other political parties.

That may prove to be a bit of a problem through the bars at Sg. Buloh. Or maybe, by then, UMNO supporters will have come to their senses, seen their “leaders” for what they are and made a new start.

Or maybe not Maybe they will by then be former members of a party de-registered because of its criminal conduct. But whatever way things go it remains the case that UMNO has been used by criminal politicians playing the race card, that its leaders have pillaged enormous suns from the public purse and that it and its conduct is a blot on the reputation of the Malay community which can only be excised by its total disappearance from the political scene.

So far nothing has been heard from the Registrar of Societies about enforcement action. No doubt all concerned there continue to draw their salaries so how about a public statement on what the Registry is doing abut parties and politicians accused of serious criminal offences? Is the Registrar content to leave registered societies in the hands of such persons? A public statement from the Registrar is long overdue.
