Second Class Members

Former PH coalition  member Bersatu now displays its true colours by announcing that it will not “become” a multiracial party but will open a “new wing” for “non Malay members” who will not be granted “full membership”.

Just another way of saying that such “foreigners” will have no say in managing the party or deciding its policy and actions!  So why bother with membership at all? Just to be allowed to vote for Malay candidates at elections? And pay their expenses?

The actual intention of the Bersatu management is as obvious as it is undemocratic, racist and wholly unacceptable. What next? Votes conditional only when cast for Malay candidates? Those responsible for this shameful and racist decision should offer public justification for it. IF they can and IF they dare.
