Catching Criminals?

The IGP is reported in the Press as saying that his men are wasting time on cases involving political personalities and so not able to catch criminals. Does this mean that he believes that there are no criminal politicians?  If so he could look in on the Najib trials.

More seriously his remark, if accurately reported, is worrisome in that it seems to show that he does not think that crime is prevalent among politicians. He cannot be unaware of the Najib and Zahid prosecutions and the raft of associated crimes committed by politicians during the BN/Najib regime nor of other widespread criminal activity by politicians from many different groups. So a re-think?
